Gas man found dealer’s £8000 cocaine stash

ADRUG dealer was caught with more than £8900 of cocaine by a gas man. Jamie Wilson, 27, kept the drugs hidden in kitchen cupboards and worktops at his flat in Glasgow’s Govan area last September.

Glasgow Sheriff Court heard the gas inspector attended the flat, which is owned by Elder Park Housing Association, for a mandatory safety check but there was no response. Entry was then forced and nobody was found inside.

Prosecutor Mark Allan said: “They carried out a quick check of the property and observed drugs, then contacted the police.”

A warrant was granted and the property was raided by officers.

Scales, plastic bags, gloves and £155 in cash was recovered from a kitchen counter.

Mr Allan added: “Within the kitchen cupboards and worktops, various sealed bags containing white powder were seized.”

The powder was found to be cocaine with a maximum street value of £8910.

Wilson, who still lives in Elder Park, handed himself into a police station last October.

He pleaded guilty supplying cocaine.
