Disruption to water supply for residents

RESIDENTS faced disruption to water supplies in the Kirkintilloch area due to a burst pipe.

Scottish Water said the problem yesterday morning affected a 15-inch main on a pipe bridge – and described the fault as a “very technical repair.”

The water authority said the network was being “re-zoned” to maintain water supplies for customers while repairs were carried out.

In a statement, the firm said: “We identified a burst 15” main on a pipe bridge as the cause of the interruption to water supplies affecting customers in Kirkintilloch.”
