Vic­tim of city stab­bing thought he would die

A VIC­TIM of the Park Inn Ho­tel at­tack on West George Street has said he “feared he would die” as he lay on the ground bleed­ing af­ter be­ing stabbed.

The at­tacker, named Badred­din Abadlla Adam, was shot dead by po­lice af­ter he hos­pi­talised six peo­ple on June 26, in­clud­ing 42-year-old po­lice con­sta­ble David Whyte.

Speak­ing with the Daily Record, Mex Abin told how he was the first per­son to be at­tacked af­ter he bumped into Adam as he walked along West George Street to meet a friend.

The 20-year-old said Adam had called him over be­fore slap­ping him on the face and stab­bing him in his right side, then again on his left.

He said: “I think the knife was small. I didn’t even see it. I felt some­thing had hap­pened to my body but I didn’t know he had stabbed me.

“I was shocked. I pan­icked. I just wanted to run.”
