Marel to launch new salmon deheader
THE Icelandic food processing company Marel says it has developed a new salmon de-header that minimises manual handling and improves quality and yield.
The MS 2720 automatic de-heading machine is still in its pre-release phase and Marel is working with key salmon industry operators to finalise its development. It is expected to be on sale in Q4 2017. The de-header is designed to achieve optimum yield by measuring each fish and adjusting the cutting tools accordingly.
