This lit­tle spi­der is com­monly known as the ‘alien butt spi­der’, thanks to the ‘eyes’ on its ab­domen. The mark­ings de­ter preda­tors, by mak­ing the spi­der look like a much larger animal. The colour­ful arach­nids are wide­spread across the east coast of Aus­tralia, liv­ing in a va­ri­ety of dif­fer­ent habi­tats.
