Live out your Iron Man dreams with this Tony Stark-style flying suit that’s gone on sale at Selfridges in London. You can pick up the 1,050bhp Jet Suit for a cool £340,000.

The Jet Suit, made by Gravity Industries, was constructed using 3D printing and bespoke electronics, weighs 27kg and is powered by five miniature jet engines attached to the back and arms. It’s no casual ride: in the suit you can reach a cruising speed of 51.5km/h (32mph) and a maximum altitude of 3,675m (12,000ft) – features that earned the suit a Guinness World Record.

Richard Browning, who built the suit, isn’t some mad billionaire with a superhero complex, but a father of two from Wiltshire who was inspired by his time with the Royal Marines. Flight is in his blood; one grandfather was a wartime fighter pilot, the other a helicopter manufacturer.

If you’re not willing or able to shell out the cost of a rather nice house for this new toy, you can always settle for an interactive VR simulation of a Jet Suit flight at Selfridges. Or if you want to take things a step further, you can book in for a flight in the Gravity Team Training Hangar, which is located 90 minutes outside London.
