With restaurant jaunts on hold, news of top chefs launching takeaway menus has added a silver lining to staying home. In central London, Ollie Dabbous and the team at HIDE have been packing their inventive cuisine into Tupperwares (alongside bottles from Hedonism Wines) for keen punters. Order up glazed eel, Wagyu meatloaf or truffled Brillat-Savarin on toast seven days a week for a special supper – or perk up weekends with their brunch menu. The Made in Olstead boxes (£70) rustled up by Tommy Banks at The Black Swan and Roots in York (local delivery) contain three-course meals (with an option to add wine). Banks’ pastoral-inspired plates include asparagus tart, turbot gratin with sweet cicely, and artichoke sticky pudding. The Midlands’ much-loved Peel’s is also delivering locally and is set to open a drive-through wood-fired feasts selection. Plus, when you order from ‘Peel’s on Wheels’, a dish is donated to a vulnerable individual or elderly person in isolation. hide.co.uk blackswanoldstead.co.uk hamptonmanor.com
