Charlton Heston hits Munich
In 1976, legendary Bayern Munich goalkeeper Sepp Maier realised a lifetime goal. No, it wasn’t winning a third successive European Cup against Saint-etienne in May, but welcoming Hollywood great Charlton Heston to his tennis academy on the western outskirts of Munich four months later. In town to promote his new film Battle of Midway, the Oscar-winning star from Ben-hur and Planet of the Apes enjoyed over-the-net beers with Maier. New glasses, please!
