Save time deadheading
A spot of deadheading will make all the difference to a summer garden. If time is limited, focus on annuals because these are programmed to flower and set seed in order to produce the next generation of plants. If you let them develop their seedpods they’ll wither and end their display. Combine deadheading with watering. If you use a hose, place this in your flowerbed and snip off any spent flowers into a bucket as you go then simply move the hose to another part of the border. Dahlias and roses will produce more flowers if deadheaded too.
