PRETTY IN PINK
Silver and purple foliage boost this bold container display
As pretty as a frothy pink party dress, this feminine combination will appeal to gardeners who want lots of flowers as well as foliage. Because the bacopa and scaevola have less significant foliage, it’s important to include an assortment of bolder foliage to go with them – in silver, cream and purple. The oversize silver stachys and large succulent also help balance the smaller-textured foliage to create a strong focal point. ✿ Best for: full sun in multipurpose compost
How the design grows:
Although the stachys and purple sedum will look good from spring until autumn, many of the other plants can be treated as annuals, so this is primarily a summer display. Come autumn, it’s time to dismantle the container: transplant the perennials direct into the garden border and set the pot to one side for winter.
