Can I cut back my dracaena?

- JO FLETCHER, LINCOLN

Yes you can – as hard as you like. The bare trunk will sprout with one or more stems. Keep the plant moist and feed it to promote new growth. Leaf tufts can be used to make a new plant too – trim the stem below the tuft so it’s 7.5-16cm (3-6in) long and put into a pot of cuttings compost. Keep moist, under a clear plastic bag to root.
