Q Does Vietnamese coriander last longer than plain?

- DEBBIE ROBERTS, LETCHWORTH, HERTS

A Vietnamese coriander (Persicaria odorata) can be used as a substitute for coriander (Coriandrum sativum) in Asian dishes. This quick-growing bushy plant is perennial but not hardy so will need winter protection. It can be grown outside in summer and prefers a moist, rich soil.
