Take advantage of your gorgeous summer garden by taking a top notch photo, and entering it into one of these current garden photography competitions. The National Garden Gift Voucher
Photography Competition is run by the Horticultural Trades Association. They’re looking for six garden images to grace their collection of gift cards for 2020. The grand prize is £500 in National Garden Gift Vouchers, a framed print of your photo and two 2020 RHS Chelsea Flower Show tickets. Five runners up each win £100 in vouchers; with £10 vouchers for highly commended. Competition closes 13 Oct 2019. See photocomp.the vouchergarden.co.uk The long-running International Garden Photographer of the Year competition is divided into 11 categories including Abstract Views, Beautiful Gardens, The Beauty of Plants and Wildlife in the Garden. Fees (£12-£25) depending on whether you enter (up to four) single pictures or a portfolio of six, payable on entry. The overall winner takes home £7,500, while category winners receive £250 each and inclusion in the IGPOTY book and tour. Competition closes 31 October 2019. See www.igpoty.com The National Trust Handbook Photography competition has been launched to celebrate the Trust’s 125th annversary in 2020. Entrants can submit up to 10 photographs on the theme ‘Places that make you feel good’. All photos must be taken at Trust properties and will be considered for inclusion in its 2020 handbook. Entrants don’t have to be members of the Trust. First prize is £1,500 to spend in the Trust’s holiday cottages, with £500-worth for the runner up. Competition closes 1 September 2019.
