Raise up pots

-

As the weather becomes more damp and showery this autumn, it pays to raise potted plants off the ground to prevent them sitting in water.

Cold, frosty weather can freeze waterlogged compost, killing plants and breaking the pot, so it’s worth investing in some attractive ceramic pot feet.

✿ Put at least three feet under each pot to allow water to run freely out of the base.

✿ Make sure there are holes in the base of the pot – and check they’re not clogged.
