Q Will my two sycamores regrow?

ASycamores are very tough and although they look bare now, it’s very likely these stumps will produce new growth next spring.

The problem with pruning mature trees hard like this is that the new branches won’t be as strong or stable as those that were removed, because they’re attached only at the edge of the trunk, not emerging from its centre. They’ll need pruning regularly from now on.
