Q Why is it a good idea to add a mulch to your garden?

A Mulching is good gardening practice because the organic matter enriches the soil and improves structure and drainage over time. Mulching also stops weeds germinating and keeps moisture in the soil. Your expensive plants are given the best conditions to thrive. Dual Action Strulch does all this and acts as a deterrent to slugs and snails - the most annoying pests in the garden! At Leeds University, Dr Geoff Whiteley found he could replicate a natural process which preserves straw. Little did he know that Strulch garden mulch would be the result. He and his wife Jackie decided to bring ‘Strulch’ to market. Strulch is made from wheat straw and the mineralisation process preserves the straw and turns it dark brown. It lasts for up to two years. Over time, the mulch improves soil structure and adds nutrients.
