Sow some coriander

-

Coriander is a popular ingredient in Asian dishes and an attractive addition to the herb garden. Start it off indoors now, then plant it out next month in a sunny position that’s shaded during the heat of the day, to prevent it from running to seed. Sow seeds 1cm (⅜in) deep in pots. When seedlings germinate after three weeks, thin the young plants out. When planting out, enrich the seed bed with compost or well-rotted manure, and rake to level the surface. Keep the soil moist and water well in dry periods. Remove flowers to focus energy on new leaf growth, re-sowing every three weeks for a continual supply through summer.
