Four more problems with daffodils

-

Narcissus bulb fly

Bulbs are killed or produce no flowers due to the maggot of the bulb fly tunneling into the bulb and eating out the centre.

Daffodil blindness

No flowers can be due to their environment – make sure bulbs are good quality, deadheaded and fed after flowering.

Daffodil viruses

Viruses don’t normally kill plants but will reduce vigour. New varieties are less likely to be affected than old ones.

Snails

Snails don’t seem to eat daffodil foliage, annoyingly it’s the buds and flowers they’re most keen on!
