Best for pots

-

Although any rose can be grown in a pot for a short time, roses are greedy and suffer if deprived of water and food. So smaller roses, often called patio roses, are best for pots. Before you start though, it’s important to choose a pot with drainage holes and to use a soil-based compost, such as John Innes No 3 compost and not multi- purpose. Peachy ‘Sweet Dream’ has long been one of the most popular patio roses but is now joined by a couple of sports: primrose-yellow ‘Sweet

Memories’ and vivid pink ‘ Rebecca’, all with a light scent and the same growth habit,

reaching 60cm (2ft). ‘Pretty Polly’ is a pale pink while the similar ‘Marry Me’ is a perfect choice for someone special!
