The best plants to suit your soil

Don’t fifight what’s on your plot! Instead pick plants that’ll feel right at home there

- Words Naomi Slade

This is the moment the garden gets into its stride. The risk of frost has passed and soil is warming nicely, so it’s time for us to leap into action! To get the best from your plants, it helps to know what soil type you have. While some are easy and biddable, others love sharp drainage, hanker for moisture or are picky about pH.

But a great garden begins with its soil, so before you hit the shops or the internet for a glorious splurge of colour, take a moment to put your nose to the ground and make sure that every plant you pick will be a winner!
