Carefree oxalis!
Irecently read that nothing will grow successfully under a leylandii hedge but my lovely oxalis blooms most of the year under ours. It survives winter well and every time the sun shines on it, it bursts out with these cheery pink blooms, which close at night or when it’s cloudy. It needs hardly any care except for deadheading. Visitors always remark on how pretty it looks bursting from under the leylandii.

Simon says: The flowers are lovely, Mary. Oxalis is resilient and will grow almost anywhere – and works perfectly here.
