Control bindweed
Bindweed is troublesome, not only for its strong, twining stems that choke and smother plants in borders, but also because it’s hard to eradicate. The white, fleshy, underground stems travel deep and wide and even tiny sections can produce new plants. You can dig up roots and hoe off shoots over time, but an easier, more effective method is to paint foliage with glyphosate (such as Scotts Roundup Gel). If it’s twining around other plants, untwine the bindweed and lay it on bare ground or a hard surface before treating the foliage.
