Get the right conditions

Wallflowers are perfect for pots as well as the open ground.

They like poor soil, or will grow in reasonably fertile soil, but don’t need added fertiliser.

Plant them in full sun in very well-drained soil. If planting in pots, improve the soil with grit, and add drainage material to the bottom.

Make sure the planting hole is large enough to accommodate the thick roots and that the soil you’re planting in isn’t too compacted.
