Start planting now for a delightful­ly dazzling display of blooms early next year

Here at Garden News we’re full of the joys of spring bulbs! This is the perfect time to get planting spring and some early summer-flowering types, as the soil’s still warm so the bulbs can develop roots and establish themselves before the winter weather arrives.

For a natural look when planting large drifts of bulbs, gather the bulbs up together and throw or roll them over the area to be planted. Then plant them more or less exactly where they land.

Planting bulbs is one of the best and easiest garden jobs and if you buy good quality ones, they’re almost guaranteed to flower. We’re share some of our season-spanning favourites with you, plus our top tips to ensure success.
