‘Kong’ growing fast

-

These are our school ‘Kong’ F1 sunflowers. When the children planted them they were hoping to get them up to the windows of the Year 3 classroom. They’re now up to three and a half metres tall, despite growing in poor soil. I can’t wait to see their faces when they come back to school after their holidays. Ivan Collins, Volunteer gardener, Andover CE Primary School Simon says: Wow! They may get bigger yet as this variety can reach more than four metres. You’ll have plenty of winter bird seed, too! Ivan wins a £25 voucher from Mr Fothergill’s for use in its mail-order catalogue. It’s packed with a huge choice of quality seeds and exciting flower, fruit and veg plants.
