Tend to those plants that have grown out of the soil
Check pots and borders to see if any plants need firming into the soil. They may have been disturbed while you were pulling out tender plants or digging up tubers; taller plants can become loosened after being tossed about in winds; or low-growing plants, such as saxifrage or heuchera, can simply grow out of the soil, especially if it has dried out. Gently fill around and firm the soil surrounding the plants with your hands and give them a light watering to help them recover.
