Grow some Persian buttercups
Vibrant, multi-petalled Ranunculus asiaticus (Persian buttercups) are compact growers that are ideal for containers. Pot up some tubers now for an eye-catching display next summer. Plant them in large pots of multi-purpose compost at twice their depth, spaced about 10cm (4in) apart. Leave the pot in a sheltered spot and keep lightly watered, then give a liquid feed in spring as they come into growth. You’ll then enjoy the colourful display from June to August.
