Sort out pot-bound plants
Now’s a good time to repot any pot-bound plants, such as camellias, to top up nutrient levels and give them more room to develop. Either move it into a slightly bigger pot or simply refresh the contents of its existing one. Lay the pot on its side on a sheet of plastic, dig out the soil with a trowel, trying not to damage the roots, before pulling the plant out. Empty out the old compost, place a layer of gravel or crocks in the base, then fill with a John Innes soil-based potting compost. Replant, firm in and water.
