Look out for these gorgeous blooms to add to your garden next year
As the growing season draws to a close, it’s time to reflect on which new varieties looked good this year. Many of these are in short supply, so if you see something that catches your eye, get your orders in quickly!
Frank Charlton
Frankie is releasing a beautiful, white medium-flowered intermediate, named after a well-known lady from the chrysanthemum world, Maureen Crouchman, who has sadly died. Maureen was president of the Southern branch of the National Chrysanthemum ( . Crouchman’ and class: 25b/W) was bred by the late Don Horn and I think it will be in great demand.

Keith Atkinson
Keith is releasing a large late single – one of the largest I have seen – called ‘R7ao/bPy).n ( Ite’s A at kinson’ lovely, delicate shade of pink, which will look great on the show bench. John Peace Chrysanthemums
I’m releasing five new chrysanthemums this year. First up is a medium-flowered, l‘ Bigahrtb baroranze intermediate called D (2a5kbi/ nL’B), which was bred by Gordon Dowson. I’ve grown this for two years and it’s very consistent, never failing me.
The second is the large early reflex, ‘A24nan/eC ( rJ) o. wnehsic’h was raised by Dickie Jones and named after his wife. I’ve had the pleasure of growing this one too.
The next one was bred by the legend Phil Gurr who bred ‘Chessington’. He’s n‘( M2a4mibgi/dnRag)l teh’is red reflex and, again, this is a consistent flowerer.
Next is a sport of ‘Dorridge Crystal’, which has sported for my good friend Paddy Webb. It’s a light pink colour and will be named ‘P2e4aa/rLl ( PD) o.rridge Crystal’

Tim Bosworth

Beechwood Chrysanthemums
Ian Moss is releasing two new chrysanths, the first being a section two medium Jap c‘( lCaerdn), ra’ised by John Neville. The second is a late intermediate called ( arg’ain bred by John Neville.

Halls of Heddon
Two new sprays are being released this year by Halls, which are from the Southway family. The first one is called (29d/R), a bright red which will do well on the show bench or in the garden. The second one is called ( I’saw this when it was first registered and it looked really good.

Aldred’s Chrysanthemums
Vin Aldred is releasing two new sprays this year. He’s the top spray raiser at the minute. The first one is named after his beloved granddaughter, so it must be good! This is ( ) Tohsee second one is a lovely yellow single called (29d/DY).

Bill has three new chrysanthemums available for release this year:
