Sprinkle sulphur chips around acid-lovers

-

Plants such as rhododendron, camellia, heathers, pieris, liriope, acers and rhaphiolepis prefer acid soil. Where you’re growing acid-loving plants in soil that’s neutral or only slightly acidic, you can lower the pH a li le more by using sulphur chips around the plants. When applied and worked into the soil around them, soil bacteria convert the sulphur into sulphuric acid, which has an acidifying effect on the soil. Full instructions on application rates are supplied on the packet, and if applied on a yearly basis, you can create and maintain the ideal soil conditions to grow a wide range of acid -loving plants.
