Lift and divide snowdrops

Now snowdrops have finished flowering for another season it’s the ideal time to lift and divide large, established clumps to spread them around the garden while they’re still in the green. Simply fork out a large clump and carefully pull it apart by hand into smaller clumps of between six to 10 bulbs. Fork over a patch of soil, mix in some organic matter and replant the small clumps, making sure they’re planted to the same depth. If the soil’s dry water the roots and then wait for them to naturally die down over the next month or so.
