Plant new perennials

-

As the soil starts to warm up it’s an ideal time to plant some new perennials into beds and borders to provide colour through the summer months. Before planting, fork over the soil and work in some garden compost to improve the soil structure. You can also apply a little general fertiliser such as fish, blood and bone or Growmore to feed the plants and help the roots to establish. Space the new plants out on the soil, either as single specimens or in groups, and plant into the prepared soil, carefully firming the roots in as you go.
