Sow broad beans direct

You may have already sown some early broad beans under cloches or indoors. As the weather warms up though, you can start thinking of sowing some in the open ground without protection. In the north of the country, you may have to delay this for a week or two. Some polythene placed over the soil prior to sowing will absorb heat and help it to warm up.
