Perennial tree onion

Also known as walking onions, so named by the way the plant can fall over in the garden and easily re-seed itself! Clusters of tasty bulblets are produced in large numbers on the top of onion stalks, like an edible onion flower head. A hardy perennial, whose lower bulblets can be eaten, and top ones replanted.

These ‘top se ing’ onions are a botanical oddity!
