Cooking with caulis
They’re always an asset in the kitchen
Available to harvest most months of the year, cauliflower really is a year-round crop, nutritious and versatile, and at its tasty peak, harvested in spring and autumn. More popular now than ever, it’s always an asset in the kitchen and well worth growing.
Sow seeds now in modules of multi-purpose compost, and keep at around 21C (70F) until germination. Grow on in cooler conditions and harden plants off before planting out in May. Water well, fertilise with a nitrogen-rich fertiliser, and start harvesting in July or August.
