Each week in the magazine we’re showcasing some of the best gardens from different regions of the UK and this week we’re focusing on Northern Ireland. They’re sometimes overlooked because fewer people have visited Northern Ireland, but they’re certainly worth putting on your list of places to see.
Wherever we look, one of the great things about the UK’s gardens is the huge variety on offer, and Northern Ireland is no exception. There are wonderful historical settings such as Antrim Castle or Bangor Castle, the stunning vistas at Mount Stewart or the walled kitchen garden at Florence Court, not to mention the amazing Botanic Gardens in Belfast. If you’ve visited any of them they’ll live long in the memory – but will they get your vote?
You might make your choice based on value for money or even just one piece of planting inspiration you took away from a certain garden. We think GN readers are the best people in the country to vote in these awards because you’re real gardeners who understand the expertise and amount of work that goes in to making these gardens so special. In the magazine so far we’ve featured the south west, Scotland and the north west, but there are four more regions
to come under the microscope; the south east, Midlands, Wales and the north east. But don’t worry, you can vote for any of the gardens across the UK that made our long list at any stage!
Voting will close on Friday, July 27, and we’ll announce the results in August when we’ll know the UK’s favourite 100 gardens!
