Winning images reflect the breathtaki­ng beauty of nature

This year’s Internatio­nal Garden Photograph­er Of The Year (IGPOTY) competitio­n attracted more than 19,000 astonishin­g images from over 50 countries, showing us the beauty and importance of plant life, including those in gardens.

Winner of the IGPOTY title and £7,500 is Jill Welham from North Yorkshire with her picture ‘Fireworks’, which shows three allium heads captured in wet cyanotype, a modified 19th century printing process.

Winning images will be exhibited at the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew until March 10, but will then be touring around the UK and overseas. l Visit www.igpoty.com for further informatio­n.
