I've found a fuchsia nursery!

- Pam Gray

The thermostat on the heater in the cuttings greenhouse was giving us problems so we decided to buy a new one. A bit of a saga followed as the new one didn’t seem to be working properly either so the supplier promptly sent another but we couldn’t get the hang of this one.

After another phone call to the supplier we decided on a different model, which again was sent promptly and is working fine. Thank you to The Greenhouse People for their brilliant customer service!

All my cuttings have been checked and picked over and are looking good. I lost a few variegated geraniums but still have plenty.

I’m looking forward now to potting the cuttings up in a couple of weeks’ time.

I’ve found a local fuchsia nursery that stocks all my favourite varieties. I’m so pleased and will be visiting soon to buy new plants.

I’m excited the alliums that I overwintered in the cold greenhouse are growing well in their pots and I've been checking over my lilies as well and replacing some of the old compost with fresh.

Last year I trialled some calceolaria plants for Thompson & Morgan – they were very striking and flowered for most of the summer. I cut the plants back and put them in the greenhouse and they're now sporting some lovely new green foliage.

Corylus avellana ‘Contorta’ is just showing catkins – I love this tree with its curly branches. Barry has pruned the clematis ‘Étoile Violette’ and also been working in the veg garden. He's going to help me repot the blueberries and then I'll give them a feed.
