So proud of my mum
Creativity! Birds have it pegged
We've been mixing our two favourite things: gardening and crafts. The boys (Connor, 7, Dylan, 4 and Jack, 3) have created their very own flower displays by cutting up old Garden News magazines.

Loving these funky flowers on our sempervivum! Diane Barber, Facebook
We went to hang out our washing this week and found a bird had made its nest in our clothes peg basket. It was great to find out that the birds are spotted flycatchers – migrants from Africa. They’ve laid three eggs and the female sits on the nest (and pegs) – watching us working in the garden.

We moved here 45 years ago and these plants (a garden rose, a French rose and an old-fashioned weigela) were already here in our garden. They’re still going strong! Roger Harris, Facebook

My mum has arthritis, depression and anxiety and struggles to do much, but her garden is her sanctuary, especially during lockdown. She has started growing vegetables and they’ve gone crazy! I'm so proud of her and what she has created. Hannah Plummer, by email
Simon says: Thanks so much for that letter Hannah – the last few months have been really tough for so many people but it’s good to hear that gardening has helped your mum. It really is the best. therapy sometimes.
This is my two-year-old granddaughter Kyra, who thought my one and only allium was a giant dandelion and picked it! Should be unhappy but who can resist the happy fun she’s having.

So pleased with my borders this year, it looks like a show garden full of beautiful plants. Rachael Lewarne, Facebook
