Q Should I prune my newly planted photinia?

ABUNNY SAYS Photinia produces bright red new growth, and I assume you want to maximise this. In which case, prune this shrub annually once the leaves have faded to bronze. It should reward you with a second flush of vibrant growth. Alternativ­ely, just leave the plant to grow to the height you want.
