Remove all flowers
Increase the weight of next year’s crop of newly planted strawberries by removing all this summer’s flowers. Check plants regularly for the few developing flowers and snip them out to the base. Weed at the same time to reduce any competition for resources. The first few fruits that would have developed can use up quite a bit of the young plants’ energy. Next year the plants will be that much stronger and ready to produce a bumper crop.
