Watering for results

Plants in the greenhouse are growing fast in high light conditions now, so be efficient with the watering. Only water directly onto the compost surface. Splashes on the leaves make them vulnerable to scorch on hot days so avoid this unless they are well shaded. There will be fewer problems with fungal rot if you water in the morning, leaving a lower humidity in the greenhouse at night. Always fill watering cans ready for the next watering as this allows the water temperature to rise to the ambient temperature in the greenhouse, meaning the plants suffer less stress.
