Mountfield freedom 48 garden tools let you enjoy the power of petrol with the convenience of cordless

-

Mowing grass or trimming your hedges couldn’t be any easier, or quieter, with the Freedom48 range of garden tools. The nine tools in the range really do deliver – they have petrol-equivalent power with no fumes, no starting problems, no cords to drag behind you and the running costs are significantly lower. In fact, they’re typically just 10% of the cost of running an equivalent petrol machine. Each tool is powered by the same 48-volt lithium-ion battery available in two capacities, 2Ah and 4Ah. These powerful batteries have long run times, as well as extremely long lifetimes, retaining 85% of their original charge after 500 cycles – that works out at seven years of heavy use!

The Princess lawnmowers

The Princess 34Li (below left, RRP £329) and Princess 38Li (above, RRP £379) models from the range are both packed with premium features and have been designed specifically for British gardens. The 34Li has a 34cm cutting width, while the 38Li has a larger 38cm blade, but both are supplied with two 2Ah 48 volt batteries and a charger (worth over £250), making them great value. Other key features include a single-lever height-of-cut adjuster, making it easy to adjust the cutting height. There’s also an integral rear-roller for a striped finish, a front comb for improved cutting, and a mulching plug so you don’t have to worry about collecting grass clippings, recycling them back into the lawn instead. When you mulch, the clippings are cut into extra-fine particles and are actually blown back down into the turf, returning valuable nutrients to the soil.
