Prepare bedding for planting out
Place pots and trays of bedding plants outside this month so that they can gradually acclimatise to the lower temperatures and air movement, but can still be protected if a late frost is forecast. Once the risk of frost is over, prepare the plants by picking off damaged leaves and pinching out any flowers that are already going over to encourage more. Plant them out, making sure they have plenty of space to grow, and help get them established by watering a couple more times in the first week. Water more during dry spells, as well as regularly if they are planted into pots.
