Get ahead with plug plants
Plug plants are ready-to-go mini-plants that can be put straight into your raised bed. They are ideal for veg that’s slow to get going from seed such as beans, courgettes and chard.
1 Gently ease each plug from the tray with your fingers or a pencil, making sure the rootball stays intact.
2 Make a channel in the soil, then plant each plug at the same depth it was in the tray.
3 Firm the soil back around them, then water generously.
