Adam’s buying tips
Hold a bulb in your hand to check its health – it should be firm and as fresh as possible Avoid any that are damaged, soft, shrinking or mouldy Buy as close to planting time as possible so you can put them where they should be – in the ground!
Buy in bulk for cheaper bulbs and to make a spectacular display Always check the variety when you buy bulbs to avoid spring surprises
Buy chicken wire at the same time, to protect from predators (see p64)
