I’m re­cov­er­ing from a chronic back and hip in­jury. When I gar­den, I ask for help, I am pa­tient with my­self. I do low-down jobs, then walk around, then do higher jobs and switch again. Mind­ful­ness is prob­a­bly the best thing. Colleen Esc

I fell off my roof clear­ing ivy from the eaves. I’m out of my wheel­chair now, but still suf­fer. I’ve changed to a no-dig, less for­mal ap­proach and have al­lowed the gar­den to be­come wilder and more ram­bling – the wildlife loves it! Maria El­iz­a­beth
