Ten­der bed­ding plants won’t sur­vive frost, so re­fresh your pots and borders now by pulling them out and re­plac­ing with hardy plants that will flower this win­ter and spring. Try pan­sies, polyan­thus and wallflow­ers, and add a few ferns and small shrubs like heather or euony­mus. Plant tulips be­tween them for ex­tra spring colour.
