We all know that gardening helps to keep us fit, but it turns out it’s also good for our mental wellbeing. 50 per cent of gardeners surveyed said they noticed increased happiness levels since taking up gardening, with 44 per cent stating it helps reduce their anxiety, according to a poll by AXA Insurance. Among the over 55s, 58 per cent say gardening has revealed the importance to their wellbeing of spending time outside.
