FRESH HEADS

-

Just two, unassuming plants, the snowdrop and primrose, are enough to signal the joyous start of a new season – and early bees will love them. WHY IT WORKS The fresh, green rosettes and lemon yellow of the primroses contrast beautifully with the snowdrops’ glaucous blades and snow-white nodding bells. SECRETS TO SUCCESS Plant the native primrose en masse and they will soon naturalise a shady spot. Snowdrop bulbs should be planted as soon as possible to stop them drying out or planted in the green in spring. Split groups of both plants after flowering when they get too big.
